"Maluko"
Markus Perez like so many before him was inspired by Bruce Lee to start his Martial Arts journey. Perez would first train in the Eagle Claw style of Kung fu. But just like his idol he would start training in other arts as well so he could learn to honestly express himself in combat. This expansion on his journey would start when his brother took him to his first Jiu Jitsu Class. Prior to competing full-time in MMA, Markus worked as an information technology engineer at technology school and he was also a freelance software developer, and he quit his job and college to teach Muay Thai and competed in Brazilian jiu-jitsu to make a living so he could pursue MMA full-time. He would compete in Jungle Fight, Legacy Fighting Alliance (becoming their middleweight champion), and the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Now he seeks to return to his traditional martial arts roots by competing in Karate Combat.
